Why go purple for Alzheimer’s Awareness?

  • More than 5 million Americans are living with the disease.
  • Every 67 seconds someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s.
  • Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.
  • 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.

270x280Seniors Guide, along with the National Alzheimer’s Association, are raising awareness in the hopes to educate, provide local area resources, and encourage participation in the help and development of research to fight Alzheimer’s.

For the month of November, one of the ways we are raising awareness is by going “purple”.  That is why you’ll see some familiar elements of a different color.  We are also promoting the cause on our social media sites – Facebook and Twitter.

All month long, we will be featuring and posting new articles that take on the subject of Alzheimer’s Disease.

The Greater Richmond Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association’s website features the latest facts and news about the fight to end Alzheimer’s.
