bucket listYour Bucket List, Have you done it all yet?

Granted, you may not have the opportunity (or the stomach) for exotic adventures like flying over the North Pole or riding motorcycles on the Great Wall of China, à la Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman in The Bucket List. Heck, you may not even have a “bucket list,” per se.

But aspiring to do things that tickle your fancy and get your juices flowing keeps you looking toward the future. Some claim that it’ll even make you live longer!

We asked eight people—from their 50s to 70s—what they’ve always wanted to do. (Not surprisingly, we found most of their dreams revolved around travel.) We even goaded some of them into putting a date on it. Here’s what they had to say …

Me (Terri L. Jones), 53

“I have always wanted to see the country—east coast to west—from the windows of a Winnebago. Slow, relaxed, unencumbered travel from city to city.”

When? There’s a possibility it might happen this year!

Pat, 73

“Travel to Hawaii with all of my peeps (family), playing golf, paddle boarding and kayaking in the Pacific! After my visit to Maui, I wanted to share this fabulous experience with my family.”

When? Depends on my health and the stock market.

Don, 54

“Open a yoga studio. Also go to Japan. Maybe open a yoga studio in Japan…”

Joyce, 76

“Elope with Andrea Bocelli. (Ahemm, some dreams are destined to remain dreams!) More realistically, write a book and save a life.”

Linda, 67

“While having breakfast on my veranda, enjoy the glaciers of Alaska.”

When? In July! My husband and I are taking a cruise through Alaska.

Tom, 74

“I love to fish. My goal would be to catch a state-record flounder. No, make that ‘world record!’”

When? As soon as those other fishermen start sharing their secrets!

Martha, 65

“The very first thing that popped in my head was that I want to see Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse sculpture. Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated with Mt. Rushmore.”

Calvin, 73

“Teach people who really want to learn to play the guitar … and do it for free.”

When? I’m doing it! (If learning to play the guitar is on your bucket list, let us know and we’ll connect you with Calvin.)
